Welcome (back) to Script Club — the book club for screenwriters.

WHO: Screenwriters and people who like to read and discuss screenplays.

WHAT: We’ll be talking about Old Time Hockey, a spec script written by Kevin Jakubowski.

This screenplay was featured on last year’s (2023) Black List. (And was suggested for Script Club by your fellow reader/writer, Rob — thanks, Rob!)

There are a few off-color jokes (in case you’re sensitive to that kind of humor), but all in all it’s a feel-good story that I think will be an uplifting way to kick off the new year.

HOW: Read the screenplay (linked above), then bring your questions, observations, and takeaways to the Zoom session on January 12. I’ll get the conversation started with a little overview of the story’s framework and I hope you’ll share what you learned from the read, too.
