Welcome (back) to Script Club — the reading club for screenwriters.
WHO: Screenwriters and people who like to read and discuss screenplays.
WHAT: For the next meeting of Script Club, I thought it would be fun and interesting to focus on biopics — movies about a real person’s life.
I know many of you are working or have worked on screenplays based on either your own true stories, or the lives of people who are historically important, famous, or influential. So let’s dig into what makes a biopic work!

WHEN: We’ll meet on Sunday, June 1, 2025 @ 9am Pacific Time.
WHERE: On Zoom, at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83348344697 (That’s the link to join the meeting; no advance registration is required.)
WHY: To read good scripts, talk about what makes them work, and identify some takeaways you can apply to your own writing.
HOW: Read the screenplay, then bring your questions, observations, and takeaways to the Zoom session on June 1. I’ll get the conversation started with a little overview of the story’s framework and I hope you’ll share what you learned from the read, too.
